Round of covers

With many covers appearing around the web, it's time for another round of covers!

First up is the UK cover art for Brandon Sanderson upcoming novel, Steelheart. The art style is the same as the previous UK release for the author.  I like the style but I prefer the US art. What about you?

Back in 2009 and 2010, Tor released new cover art for all the Wheel of Time books, electronic editions.  It seems that two among them were not to the taste of Harriet, Jordan's wife and editor, and for the new trade paperback release, she asked for a new cover for A Crown of Swords.  The scene chosen this time is Cadsuane's first meeting with Rand. Here's Tor's Irene Gallo post on the creation of the new cover. I prefer the new cover, what about you?

Next up is a new Epic Fantasy novel by English author Anthony Ryan, Blood Song.  The cover art is the work of Orbit books in-house designer Nick Castle and freelancer Nik Keevil.

The book will be out in July and here's the blurb:
Vaelin Al Sorna’s life changes forever the day his father abandons him at the gates of the Sixth Order, a secretive military arm of the Faith. Together with his fellow initiates, Vaelin undertakes a brutal training regime – where the price of failure is often death. Under the tutelage of the Order’s masters, he learns how to forge a blade, survive the wilds and kill a man quickly and quietly.
Now his new skills will be put to the test. War is coming. Vaelin is the Sixth Order’s deadliest weapon and the Realm’s only hope. He must draw upon the very essence of his strength and cunning if he is to survive the coming conflict. Yet as the world teeters on the edge of chaos, Vaelin will learn that the truth can cut deeper than any sword.

I see a lot of Orbit covers there - and I think they always do a nice job - but then again I might be biased ;-) as they are my publisher.
