My choice right now would be King of Thorns followed by Throne of the Crescent Moon but I still haven't finished The Blinding Knife and The King's Blood... What's yours?
I'm continuing my crusade to discover whether Saladin Ahmed is in position of some kind of brainwashing device and has employed it to believe his book is anything more than complete garbage.
ReplyDeleteYou know there are so books you think are bad and other think they're great. It's all a matter of opinion - we are all individuals and I totally respect and even cherish that.
However, Throne of the Crescent Moon is one book that I refusing to let slide. It is so woefully, tragically bad that I am convinced that people who list it as the years best fantasy have either read a different book to me, or were on some kind of illicit drug.
In the words of one of Australia's most ironically cherished politicians, 'Please explain'!
Wow, I've not read a single one of those :( I need to up my reading game and then some!
ReplyDeleteJamie
Well, I'm certainly not voting for Terry Goodkind...
ReplyDelete@Josh: You found Throne of the Crescent Moon that bad? In every aspects or was there something that nagged at you more?
ReplyDeleteKing of Thorns then The Blinding Knife.
ReplyDeleteKing of Thorns, The Blinding Knife, and The King's Blood were all excellent. However, I'd give it to Michael J. Sullivan for Percepliquis.
ReplyDeleteBesides being a phenomenal book in its own right, it would be like Perter Jackson's LOTR: The Return of the King winning Best Picture and Best Director. Yes, it was great, but it is also a capstone to an amazing series.
